Deer and fox dogs

Recommended Posts

I was talking to an old farmer who used to lamp the occasional deer today. He said that the best kind of weather to get them was dry bright windy nights; he reckoned that they used be able to see what they were doing better.

Is there any truth to what he said? I've never lamped deer and I have no intention of doing it I'm simply curious, also I wouldn't want my gun to be taken away from me.

ive only seen two dogs what i would say were garenteed fox dogs ive seen a good few deer dogs, the main difference i saw between them was the mess the garenteed fox dogs made of the deer only thing they were any good for was dog food. a good deer dog could keep you in food and a few quid before the ban
