I clocked this little fellow yesteday on the weathering eyeing the ivy up that was full of sparrow's..on this occasion it flew away empty footed..

caught one a few months ago at a fishing pond,seen a brown flash in the corner of my eye and the a load of screams from a magpie it was struggling with the maggy and let it go.it then took flight nailed the bird again and i noticed jesses on it so sneeked up and threw a teeshirt over the both of them gave it to some lad e said it was a large female :thumbs:

If it was rung pip it will belong to someone who will be desperate to get it back..

it was an imprint millet .stunning bird thow :thumbs:

 

did it go back to its original owner

how would you know the original onwer when its flying wild and under weight it got taken to a experienced bird man :thumbs:

from the ring it will be abcr and the ring registerd to the breeder :thumbs:

Cracking picture Millet , your a lucky man seein them often , I've seen 3 in 14 yrs round my garden , should I say I've had 3 sightings over a couple of months , probably the same bird , has anyone noticed recently the lack off Gergen birds tits ect , I feed them religiously and lately they seem to have vanished ?

weve got loads here they breed in the spinney at the bottom of the garden every year. once they find a food source they will stick with it although they mainly hunt at dusk and dawn unless there feeding young.
