Grayling 56
Much respect sir , I've been shooting Magpies for 35 years and never had no where near that many in a single day, thats got to be some kind of record in our hobby. That is some awesome bag even for two shooters and it looks like you make a bit of a habit of such monstrous bags . Unless you have some secret magic potion, please tell us your secret. I see the tools used were air powered, but even with rimfires that would be a mega large number. I have had 6 Magpies in less than 5 minutes but only because they were busy squabbling with Crows, (got two of them as well) we never saw anymore afterwards for the rest of that day. Those Corvids are pretty brainy when it come to spotting potential threats. Quote Link to post
ftm 3,357
they were all shot whilst roosting lads me and my mate found a good roost then just asked around ie local farmers allotment holders to keep eyes open for flight paths at certain time of day 3- 4 oclock seems to be the time they move nearer their roosts then we waited for right conditions [cloudy wet &windy ] andas you can see the rest is history -billy Quote Link to post

moxy 617
Looks like you we're busy there fella. Good bags and good shooting. Only time we end up with good numbers is by silhouetting the night roosts. Quote Link to post

moxy 617
thats how i do them moxy night time using cloud cover as my back ground quite easy really -billy A lot have the roosts we do are amongst very thick cover of blackthorn, hawthorn and dense brambles so retrieving the shot birds is very hard. Especially at night. Good sport though. Well done. Atb Quote Link to post
