Dogs Teeth

My mum has just had to take her Doberman to the vets to be put to sleep and have her teeth cleaned. Basically a scale and polish like we would have at dentist if we weren't cleaning our teeth properly.

 

It's cost her over £200 and granted they are gleaming but the bitch is only six.

 

My bitch's teeth were about half as bad when I got her 8 months ago, half way down the tooth was dark yellow and the back ones really discoloured. She is about 4 I think.

 

This is her teeth after 8 months of raw feeding, I'm amazed to be honest...

 

 

And they are that white all the way back, top and bottom.

I knew feeding raw helped keep teeth clean, common sense really. But I didnt think it would clean teeth that had been dry fed for 3-4 years. Not to this extent and so quickly anyway.

got to agree about the raw feeding ive got a dog thats 13 that has teeth like the dog in your pic, but on the other hand my 11 year old lurcher who is on exactly the same raw food has shit teeth and is due to have one pulled due to an abcess, its deinatly a better way to feed but the only thing i can think is that he doesnt use his teeth the same way (doesnt chew his food)and thats why there bad
