deerhound blood in lurcher

alright lads i have a lurcher with deerhound blood theres also bull and wheaton 2 1/2 year old bitc flying at rabbits doublin up etc but still very puppish i now there slow to mature but can [NO TEXT TALK] tell me when ya really see there full potential aand when they mature thanks give honest op not stupid 1s

that was there down fall, slow to mature, a good mix is colliegrey x deerhound grey/ made very usefull field dogs wether you were rabbiting, but they come to there own on deer, and Hares, I never used them on any thing else, this was all back in the late 60s early70s ((( No Hunting Bans in place then, but poaching was a serious offence up here in SCOTLAND, ((((( but who would dare take anything that belonged to the LAIRD A VERY SERIOUS OFFENCE !

In the good old days mine had all killed large game by a year old but the more deerhound they have, the slower they tend to be to mature. I have a bitch now who is just shy of 31" and she wasn't really mature until about two or so but is quite formidable now. Just give it some gentle work and see how it goes

Thanks for the info lads means alot . Scence i put this post up she has stopped doin the red fellas now hit them but wont touch them thats with a other dog thats it dont now wats up with her its not that im pushing hard.shes 2 and half now doubled up on four shes not due in heat or anything till feb.I think i be best leavin them off till next season let her mature an other bit start her back slowely. dont get me wrong its not a machine im after im just wondering wat she can do like us all i bred her me self the bitch she came off was a all rounder bitch do all game bring rabbits back to hand not alive but close lol sadly she had to be put down from a injury.
