The Seeker 3,048
Tikka T3 is very nice I have one but in 6.5 x55 My .223 is a Browning A Bolt and must say its a cracking rifle, light well built and not too expensive Quote Link to post
JohnGalway 1,043
Remington 700 VLSS with laminated thumbhole stock, cos it looked good I'd say they've the most aftermarket bits and bobs for them of near any rifle. People say that's because they're shit, but really they only say that out of jealousy I changed the trigger to a Jewell, got it bedded and screw cut. Foxes hate it Quote Link to post
zx10mike 137
tikka t3 all the way for me and if you want to cutomise it later then you can. here is mine before i put a scope on Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
As usual... WHAT I HAVE! The fact is there are very few bad makes out there, (obviously the odd individual dog). It comes down to what you want and best suits your need. For example, xc10mike above, I wouldn't give that monster house room, because I don't need it, he probably would not want any of the tools I use, that doesn't mean there is anything wrong with the guns! I like and use light guns, I have no need for anything else in the field! My bog standard selection of .223/.243/.308, they do for me on the centrefire front! Quote Link to post

My bog standard selection of .223/.243/.308, they do for me on the centrefire front! i actually like lighter rifles and when funds stretch will probably buy a light weight walking rifle.the fact is i wanted stupid accuracy and rarely do a lot of walking long distances.when i do i use a grag bag or biathlon sling as it is a tad heavy after say 10 yards or more if your just hunting and not going to be warming that barell up then lighter is better Quote Link to post
beast 1,884
i'm no expert but i usedto use a ruger 223 with a stainless barrel and synthetic stock, i found it a really good rifle but i have limited experience of other makes so its hard to make a good comparison Quote Link to post
dedger 16
Have a look at the weatherby Vanguard, they are guarantee'd sub MOA straight from the box and won't break the bank. Quote Link to post
