Brimmer 220
I know we all dont want to, But when it happens, a good blade is priceless, and takes some time to get worked in! These look like a good starting point, especially with the fiber-shaft. Is it wrong to ask for a spade for xmas? http://www.screwfix.com/p/spear-jackson-polyfibre-shovel/27322 Quote Link to post

Sirius 1,391
I have a fibre shafted spade, came from the water board, its small but not too small if you get me, done me years of service. Quote Link to post
Tug 168
Cant beat the bulldog Rabbiting spade. I has it's place, but it's useless on deep digs. It's hard to lift out earth/sand because of the small head and shallow angle. I've always got mine in the boot in case we have some tight digs, along with a short roughneck. The spade that gets carried and used most is the bulldog GS/2 which is modelled on the old army "general service" spade. Got mine from toolstation, £30 Quote Link to post
