littlefish 586
I dont believe in boosters, never had them done, and never had any bother over the years. But unfortunately if I go on holiday abroad, I sometime use kennels, and if you dont have boosters or kennel cough on your certificate, then your stuffed. Even though difficult, I would do the nails myself and get your wormers like Drontol on line. In that case do you not have a problem when checking your dogs in at kennels? Do they not ask to see your up to date vaccination cards?
Ideation 8,216
Some vets are better than others, i recently had two consultations, an injection of anti biotics, a course of oral anti biotics, some syringes, for about 40 quid.
Runningdogs3 59
The only thing that annoys me about vets is when you take two dogs at once why do they still charge two consultation fees? You only see them once and the appointment is never twice as long! On saying that our vet is pretty good about nails, weighing etc and do a free of charge surgery twice a week for that kind of thing. Took my bitch in for her nails after I had weaned the pups as it was easier than fighting with her at home. It's great hearing the words " No charge for today"

Carraghs Gem 1,675
My vet is great, I feel like ive robbed him when I pay him and he only charges me 20 or 30 quid for stitching my dog/horse/goat back together, hes only chargeing me 20quid per hob to get my ferrets castrated in spring and he charges 25for vaccinations and will split the bottle of vaccine between 2 dogs to save you money. stabba 10,745
You give the vet the dogs symptoms/or tell him/her what you need doing......the vet already has an idea of the charge so simply just ask him/her before any meds are administered. Last time i was at the vets all they wanted to do was jab with Pen and Strep..I told em i can do that meself at home...So all i paid was the consultation fee. Moral is..you've got a brain..use it..atb stabba

Born Hunter 17,783
I got stung for £270 for an x-ray and a bandgae two weeks ago! An x-ray and a f*****g bandage! Part of the cost was anesthetic but if I had known that I would have just stayed and held the dog steady for the x-ray myself! That bill shocked me a bit! The shitter was that the only reason the toe was x-rayed was because the vet said it was 'deffinately' broken, it wasn't, it was dislocated!
