darrenb47 12
Done my local golf course the other night . Starlight on the ferrets collar and head lights all round (except ferret and dog ) .the resident fox sat and watched us from a distance all night .. Great fun it was like a disco at times with rabbits bolting an lights flashing all around ... Carry on ferreting 1 Quote Link to post
Guest scramble
done loads of it, especially where you could'nt do in the day its good fun but you got to keep your wits about you amazing how much it takes it out of you all the concentration thats needed. i always go with minimal kit, nothing worse than stumbling around in the dark looking for your favourite knife. Fat-Ferret 857
It is a most enjoyable sport...especially when emotional land owners are involved and working by day is out of the question Quote Link to post
pip1968 2,490
the star lights have 2 functions first they probably frighten the rabbits and secondly really easy to spot the ferret in undergrowth and they last for 6to 7 hrs Edited November 20, 2012 by pip1968 Quote Link to post
jack68 628
done a bit my self its just a new string to your bow, working in sensitive areas..jack Quote Link to post
fitchet 788
I might have ago tonight or at the weekend. I done it a few years back on some really sandy banks and without the dog i couldnt have done it really. Quote Link to post
Brimmer 220
Does anybody think that the starlights might make a rabbit bolt easier in daytime? There could be nothing stranger than a green, blue or red light trundling down a tube towards them. Just thinking outside the box! Quote Link to post
Joycey 20
Cheers for all the replays, ive sorted my ferret collars out put some of that "high viz" stuff on them they look the bollocks LOL.... and ive always had bells on them, plus the birds have glow in the dark jessies on, carnt wait now, should be out tomoz night if the weather is ok, all the fields im doin are on a side of a mountain nothing else around so no chance of losing the ferrets plus there will be three of us going, two flying the birds and a lad doin the ferretin....
