it's similar to watching them work in the day....only darker

or night lites what anglers use

ive done it, use a white ferret with a bell on coller

I quite fancy giving it a go with my albino next time there's a decent moon out, I wouldn't do it anywhere other than in a warren that was well away from cover though, and well away from overlooking roads......digging at night in full view of a road or something is inevitably going to lead to mither!

that's a crackin idea, what do you do, glue a small piece of tubing to the collar and stick a float tip in?

full moon if poss and open warrens if poss.

Yes Vin your right, a full moon is the perfect night, it helps if and when a coney slips a net and back holes further down the set. i started to do a bit of moonlight ferreting when conditions wern't right for a drop of the longnet but still had the urge to get out.

yeah i use 2 bits of clear heat shrink glued to the collar then slide the snap light in. you could use some tape to hold each end for extra security.

We used to do some sensitive land at night, things like school feilds, nature reserves, the sort of places where folk would get upset with the owners of the land if they were the type that liked to watch the rabbits hopping around, you need to have all the ferrets collared and use dull or dimmed lights or as soon as the rabbits see the light outside the burrows the wont bolt, the hardest thing is making sure the rabbits are underground when you arive, or they may be out under the cover of darkness feeding, organisation is the key, and longnets

Done loads in past ,, good way of getting on keepered park land, we also used to do a field at he side of a power station , wich was impossible to do in daytime, bu you could do that without the moon , cos of the light pollution from the station.

Once your out , your eyes get the night vision after a while and you just tune in,,, when I did it a lot we never yoused those glow sticks,,, I didn't know about them back then,,, but I would proberbly use them now.
