Sako.243 1
While we're on the subject, the smoking ban in Ireland was not extended to prisons or mental insitutions, for obvious reasons.Has there been similar allowances made in the upcoming UK smoking ban? you are still allowed to smoke on offshore platforms which are prisons/mental institutions Spot on there mate, We must be mental to work out here. Pipey Magregor 0
hmm.gif Whooah now! Hold on a minute you guys. How about we Dare start this whole thing off again? Why not bring in Thurso Jack? He seems well versed in his christian bible stuff. I'm sure he could repeat his own interpretation of the " Let he who is free of sin cast the first stone " routine? (" Life of Brian " fans, Pul Eeeeeease excercise some restraint here, eh? Just this once?) Now, before ye all leap onto those high horses about " Doing a Roy ". Why don't you f*ckers just start ye posts with: " My Handle is *********. I Drive a ********** and, frankly, couldn't give a F*ck about ye babys Or your lungs. SUCK MY EXHAUST!!! But now stand aside as I go hell to town on anyone who Dare burn a little vegetation in my proximity! OK? yes.gif Now. Step right on up here and let's hear you earth suffocating, ozone destroying, school running, bull bar wearing, drunk driving, land gobbling, bar b que lighting, resourse depleating, war causing Ad F*cking Nauseum, Oh So Self Righteous Hypocrites ..... explain, Fully, ye arguements against a Publicans right to simply display a notice saying " Smoking Allowed Within ". Thus giving You the choice of Driving down that road to a pub where ye can all grab a snatch of the 'Fresh, Clean Air' ye deny me (A smoker who's never even taken a driving test in his life) while leaving a stinking trail of noxious gasses in ye wake which I, smoker stood outside my local or just wandering down the road, and Any Other non smoker alike is obliged to breath in. Come on. This should be fun! feck.gif I dont drive at all, let alone a 4 x 4, I'm on foot mate lol. The end of the day it says above the door Public house, its open to the public and no one should have to deal with having smoke blown all over them if they dont want to, It does put alot of people in discomfort coughing and what not, as they're trying to enjoy a tot, everyone knows second hand smoke can ruin your health and all because someone is too ignorant and selfish to just stand in the door way or go outside to smoke. Not every none smoker has somewhere else to go as you suggested, and no one should realy be Driving down that road to a pub where ye can all grab a snatch of the 'Fresh, Clean Air' whilst they're drinking either anyway, thats how accidents happen lol . Rather than ask that of the person who isnt poluting his lungs and others around him with smoke, what is wrong with asking the smoker to just stand outside under a shelter to smoke? Is it realy that much to ask of smokers just to go outside if they want to indulge in an unhealthy habbit that can effect others? It's not like people are asking for any sort of MAJOR life change out of smokers, its just a bit of respect for others that dont smoke. Surely abit of respect isnt too much to ask for is it? Guest Macnas
Now that's a good point, if you've had a few pints and 10 cigarettes at the same time, you feel an awful lot worse in the morning, or at least I used to.

THEN ANYONE CAN CHOOSE TO USE THE PUB OR NOT. NOT TO PUT YET ANOTHER BAN ON, WE HAVE ALWAYS HAD THE CHOICE IN THIS COUNTRY , BUT NO MORE, BECAUSE OF MORAL BIGOTS. Bloody right on Thats why i have installed a chevy big block in my Sinclair C5, just for that bit of 'something different' And just why should the future generation have all the fuel??? Feck em! Anyhow mate, you want to take up the art of smoking, go right ahead, but you should be pre armed in the knowledge, that by far the best smokes are marlboro
poacherjim 0
right!! MY TURN .this f****d up government is trying to ban everything the only reason they are banning smoking is that there are too many cheap bootleg fags getting in therefore they are not making enough revenue from them. they say that smoking is bad for you which i must agree with being a smoker myself, but it is estimated that more people will die from obesity related illnesses than smoking so if smoking is going to be banned then FAT PEOPLE should be banned from mc donalds. put a turnstile on the door and if you cannot get through then your not eating.smoking does offend people but seeing a 30 stone donut eatin bull whale walking down the street stuffing there faces OFFENDS ME ! Guest baldie
Your missing the point folks. The ban is protect people who have had to work in a smoky atmostphere in the past, thus endangering their health. No one is expected to work in asbestos dust, coal dust, noxious fumes etc, anymore, because if they do, they have the right to sue their employer, and they will win. Smoking is dangerous to the smokers health, and to passive smokers in their company, its a fact. All down to the litigious society we now live in. I am an ex smoker, its 2 years since i gave up, after around 28 years of smoking the shit. Do yourself a massive, massive favour, use the ban as a good excuse to give up. Stop destroying your health, and those around you, stop paying extra tax, stop being addicted to a deadly drug, and stop stinking like a dead dog. I used to wonder why i caught everything going, why i was always tired, why i,d varicose veins in my legs, coupled with bad circulation in them......fags. I,ve got a new lease of life, i,ve never been fitter.....or richer. I was an ardent smoker, yes it was a habit, but i honestly enjoyed every fag, it calmed me down, and kept me thin, now i have to watch my diet a bit more, but so what? i eat healthier for it. I sat and watched my uncle die over 4 years , from lung cancer, and saw the blood and snot on his bedsheets, the day he mercifully died, and swore my son would not see the same. I ve used all the old excuses, stress etc, to carry on, the real test is giving up, and forget the patches etc, you have to want to....its the only way, plus one fact i will mention....i,m a bloody minded b*****d, there was no way on Gods green earth, that this b*****d government was going to tell me to stop....i did it myself, before the fuckers got the chance. I,m glad i no longer have to breath it in, in the pub, but i would have liked to have seen two separate rooms, smoking, and non smoking, with a smoking barperson working in the smoking side, that would have been the fair way. Of course, if folks hadn,t been buying bootleg fags for 10 years, the chancellor would still be making a killing on fag tax, and there would be no ban? ....cynical? me? I dont want to sound pious, or clever, its a genuine request to friends on here, give it up, you wont belive how much better you WILL feel....what have you to lose? Ricky-N.p.p 0
as a non smokin white scottish male i have arguments for and against the ban ! for: i can have a pint without choking ! against : ye can smell the sweat and disinfectant inthe pubs ! for: ye can wear a jacket the day after wearing it in a pub without washing it ! against: ye can be in the middle of a conversation with mates who then need to leave to have a fag ! for: loads of people i know have stopped because of the ban !!!
