jasper65 6
I don't smoke myself unless I'm on fire but have no problem with anyone else doing it!! what a piss take to take away other peoples human rights to have a Fag in a public place like a Pub or where ever , Its going to be Interesting how they intend to police it! its going to be virtually impossible.... MikeTheDog 153
What about peoples human right to breathe clean air Spot on Pat! ...Yea smokers have a right to smoke, no problem from me, but!...Why should I have to smell like an ash tray! I gave up twenty plus years ago, after three months I regained my sence of smell and realised how bad I must have smelt to others....Probably still do... Anyway, each to their own, smokers have the right to smoke and smell, non-smokers have the right to breathe clean air
Pipey Magregor 0
What about peoples human right to breathe clean air Exactly! I dont breath in any smoke all through the week, its only on saturday morning after I've gone out for a pint on the friday that I end up coughing up all manner of shite because of people smoking around me. I never have smoked never will smoked, never even tried a cigarette before, but most smokers smoke without the interests of others around then in mind at all, its a selfish health damaging habbit for the smoker and a health risk to those who have to put up with breathing it in second hand. It's about time there was a ban on snouting tbh!
Guest shay
Well I smoke and have done for 20years, smoke weed to, I do agree with the ban though in public places, a few weeks ago I had my mates boy down with me, we went in the local incidentally the local where i go most days, the boy couldn't even sit in the pub due to the smoke, why should he have to put up with that, why should anyone, go into a place and come out stinking and coughing, its easy enough to smoke outside just like the irish and welsh have to do and then nobody is being harmed, and I think its extremely easy to police, landlords get done if they let you so do the bar staff, shame going on pubwatch for the sake of smoking a fag , its a shame people didn't kick up as much fuss regards the hunting ban and as far as I'm concerned as a smoker (up to now) they can ban it anywhere they want. Why don't you f*ckers just start ye posts with: lol @ ditch, im not really well versed on the bible, but when you have a granny that went to church about six bloody times a week, you do pick up a few quotes after there drummend into you day and night. the ban makes little difference we have had it in scotland for a while now and like many i was against it, but in all honesty it hasnt made any difference, pubs are still as busy, you now have nice beer gardens in most with heaters and canopys and the pubs are actually nicer to be in, not so stuffy. and yes i am a smoker. Sako.243 1
Also as a Smoker, As T.J said the ban has made no difference at all. I dont mind going out side for a smoke as i dont smoke in my own house i stand out the front/back door anyway so i dont mind going out side the pub. For once you can waken up in the morning without your clothes and skin/hair stinking of stale smoke.
jasper65 6
Top Notch post Ditch I'm not a smaker but alot of my family was and still are! I was brought up in a smoking household which didn't bother me one hoot! now obviousley I have my own family things are a little different as none of us smoke, having said that I have no problem when friends or family come round and want to light up! 99% of the time most have the decency to stand on the Balcony or if its pissing down go in the conservatory. Either way its wrong for any Govenment to remove people's human rights! My aguement is I can stand in a smoke filled room all evening and fair enough will smell of smoke at the end of it but I'll live! but if I start my motor up in the garage with the door shut I'll be lucky if I last much longer that 30 mins! its obviouse which fumes are the biggest killer.... Guest Macnas
Same as Sako, I don't smoke at home and only smoke outdoors if at all. So I didn't mind the ban when it came in here. While we're on the subject, the smoking ban in Ireland was not extended to prisons or mental insitutions, for obvious reasons. Has there been similar allowances made in the upcoming UK smoking ban? Guest JohnGalway
Smokers out Best thing that ever ever ever happened over here. Now not only is there clean air inside but all the whinging about it is kicked out the door too Having been a barman for a time before the smoking ban over here I fully support it being banned everywhere This nonsense about 4X4's doesn't stand up. People here don't, as far as I am aware drink their pints in the pub sitting in their vehicle with it running Smokers are allowed smoke outside. If I had it my way I'd have done away with it altogether Now, how's them apples
