Youve only just got one of the dogs and planning to breed from her before shes proved herself?

Theyre both litter sisters right? So wouldnt you be best finding out which ones the better dog and breeding from her? Both got the same blood running through them.

Are you keeping one?

if you read my post again lee is said in 2 to 3 yrs time , yes i would keep back a bitch for myself and im sure after waiting that lengh of time id know what one id want to breed from.

Why would you plan to breed an untested bitch in 3 years time. Wait till its proven then scratch your head about it. If its not worth breeding off then don't bother.

I only use my dogs with the ferrets when out for rabbits and both are differant but happy with both the way the are with some slight improvement still to be worked on with one bitch.

Bitch no 1- Fast and picks rabbits with ease, great on the turn and the down points are likes to move from holes to wonder where her next chase is from and also not got the bring the rabbit back thing quite right yet. seems to have more brains

Bitch no 2 Steady at holes come back with rabbit as soon as she gets it but not got the speed of Bitch no 1 or the same turn so tends to over shoot a few rabbits

Dogs work for me and as i said i feel with them being young they will improve in time.

Breeding prob wouldnt be until they bout 3 or 4 yr old anyway but could garantee right now if i were to breed any of them id have 4 homes lined up before i picked my own dog.

To be honest wullie. Home lined up doesnt mean much tbh. What happens if the people lined up want bitches and you have 12 dogs? This happened recently to a well bred litter.

And in 2-3 years time, them potential homes might have already got a dog or their circumstances may have changed (new baby/moved house/divorced etc).

Its not a dig. Its just something you will have to consider. 3 years away is a long time. And things will be different for everybody 1095 days into the future

yes im very much aware that things can change but the people who would be glad of a pup from me just now are friends who i would give for free as not about money its about getting the right home for the dog and yes i do have friends that i wouldnt give a dog too aswell and if there was a change and i imagine in 3 yrs chances are high to say there will be id take that into account before breeding
