Squizzers

Out with Darrenb47 this morning. We've been feedng the squirrels up for a week and a half. Shooting from a hide we ended the morning with two squirrels each (one unretrievable).

We tried to film the action but we were both a bit rubbish with the cameras and not properly set up :D Will have another go next time

Nice going my man, i'd setup a feeder if the squirrels (Squizzus Whizzus) hadn't disappeared my way. I'm hoping they're are still chowing down on their stores and will start foraging soon because they were a staple winter meat for me.

Cheers Mike, I got the back legs off one but gave up on the other. What a bar steward to skin they really are. Any tips on skinning or cooking?

Nice legs ..

top morning ... Good fun . Shocking with a camera is not the word but We must have one of the best hides

You should have seen the sack on 'Brutus'! My word, he had nuts that any man would have been envious of!

Best comment of the morning was when that bloody big crow landed 15 yards in front of us when the squirrels arrived and I was undecided which to take, "I haven't been filling that feeder every night for you to shoot fu**ing crows!"

Brute strength!

Phantom says they're easier cold and I think he's right, but i do em warm as I like my meat super fresh. Same procedure as rabbit really.

Phantom seems a knowlegeble chap but I think I'll have a go when they're warm next time ;)
