Just wondering if beddyX where siutable for ratting as well as rabbits? I wont be doing masses, and i have a little patt bitch already who loves to mark rabbit burrows for me. Just starting out, building a little team, and wondered what your thoughts were? Cheers all! Quote Link to post

redpat1 225
I know some guys on here use whippets for ratting, apparently they are pretty good at it! I think all terriers including Beddies will always be up for a bit of ratting so I imagine a cross would be just as good. Is this what you are planning to take when we go out? I had better get my springer up to speed. lol. Pat Quote Link to post

GypsyJoe 36
If she's willing mate, let her get in there. vaccines cover lepto, but really dogs build up their own immunity to the local strains. All my dogs will take rats if they get chance, never had any issues beyond odd bite to nose, an terriers love ratting Quote Link to post

Tiny 7 1,694
I think these type of dogs are ideal for ratting. My mate had a Fell/Whip 1stx and a Beddy/Gh 1stx. Theses dogs showed all the terreirs up on days out any bolters they got first, Them ones that bolt too far infront for the terreirs too catch where soon scopped up quick style. Lighting fast reactions and quick killers and on too the next. A great addition too any rat pack IMO Quote Link to post

Best Ratter i have seen, she ratted with Lakeys, pats and Russel's, hated Rats with a vengeance, and she would take the most Rats. 1 Quote Link to post
buster gonads 862
Some of the best ratters i,ve seen were raceing whippets, if you add a bit of beddy to the mix i would think it should excell at rats , buster. Quote Link to post
