jukel123 7,957
I think they must be pretty dim otherwise why would they chase rabbits one day and then chase a lure on a track the next? A lurcher or even a greyhound surely wouldn't be fooled if they've seen the real thing? I'm not criticising them, I love them, I keep two but i don't think they are blessed in the brains department. I'd be interested in your thoughts. Edited November 17, 2012 by jukel123 Quote Link to post

Gaz_1989 9,539
I'm taking my bitch racing tomorrow on the track for first time. She's got collie in her and is very intelligent. I'm pretty sure she will put up a good show though. Nothing to do with brains. They just love chasing stuff? Quote Link to post

Every lurcher I've owned, admittedly collie based, would turn their noses up at a lure and if they were interested they would jump the barrier and cut the lure off at the first bend. I guess whippets have terrier blood way back and that gives them their chase anything mentality. Quote Link to post
