AirgunGuy 362
Miniature Pointer? Never heard that 1 before. As for Pointers in general...they are fantastic dogs. Grest family pet...great guard dog and great hunters. I've never really used mine specifically for rabbits though i often walk her where there are rabbits and she finds them no probs. She hunted naturally from a pup and finds all sorts of game. I had her out with the Whippet on Thu and she was marking burrows and chasing bolters. A word of advice about them...they do need loads of exercise and can be a little head strong, deciding when and what to obey. As a family pet i cant recommend them highly enough. Mine was brought up with my young 1's and they have a ball ;+)
Carraghs Gem 1,675
Have you considered the nova scotia duck tolling retriever or perhaps the brittany spaniel? Neither are large dogs and both breeds are good family dogs

whiteracer 258
Staff Bull terrier very easy to train and great with kids. Have to agree, look beyond the 'chavs' on the street corner thinking they 'hard' just because the have a staffy,i am on my 4th Staffordshire Bull Terrier and they great dogs, spot on with kids and as GrCh says they are easy to train, i had 2 males and a female at the same time and they ALL got on great with no problems at all................................Good family dogs (they known as the 'nanny dog' as they so good with kids)!!
