Dranny GLC 112
Iv been posting how when out laming my dog don't come back for ages after iv slipped him. Iv been trainning him during the day and on a night and he coming on well. So I went lamping on Thursday and there was a massive improvement in his recall. And I don't no if it was a one off but we only court one rabbit and my mate jumped over the wall to get him while I stayed next to car he ran past him with rabbit in mouth jumped the wall and retrieved straight to my hand.i couldn't believe it. Poor night because of fog but we was out so tried our best but I was happy with how he is improving and can see that it is possible to make him into a good dog. 1 Quote Link to post

Catcher 1 639
Recalls like all training bud. When you think the dogs a 100%.Keep it up for another 6 month. Then reassess. Quote Link to post
Dranny GLC 112
Ye will do pal it's just 4 weeks ago I was really upset with him on the brink of giving up on him but I can see him improving i am really happy I no there is a long way to go but at least I no it's possible to re train him. 1 Quote Link to post
Simoman 110
Personally i wouldn't of taken the dog lamping as it gives him the opportunity to ignore the recall and it reinforces the fact he CAN ignore you. Be better off giving lamping a break for a few weeks and working on the recall away from the field....... Quote Link to post
Catcher 1 639
Remember the dogs basic schooling.Without it good recall is a dream. Quote Link to post
Dranny GLC 112
That's the thing took him to our local dog walking park and people was complementing me on his recall he was about 150 yards playing with another dog and as soon as I called him he came straight back. It's just once he is slipped he try's hunting up himself but he is coming in a lot quicker than he was by this time next year I think he will be bang on. Quote Link to post

littlefish 588
I find that there is no room for complacency if you want a good dog........should it be recall, stock breaking, mixing with other dogs etc.........best results come from keeping training an ongoing activity, regardless of dogs age and experience. It takes time and commitment. Glad to hear you are making progress......keep us updated. Quote Link to post
