JohnGalway 1,043
My Crelant 7G5CS arrived this morning, also a Collimator (aspherical) head for it. It's a weighty little thing, and a little bit bigger than the FandyFire STL V6. The effect the Collimator head has on the beam is gas, just a small square shaped light on the wall with damn all spill. The little button just behind the head controls the brightness, not as I'd like, but not as bad as I had feared. Press and hold, the light will slowly dim or brighten to dark/full. I had read the light flashes three times when it gets to full brightness and was concerned that would scare off foxes, but when I see the first flash if I release the button there aren't any more flashes so that'll do. Might be able to get out with it tonight all going well. Edited November 19, 2012 by JohnGalway Quote Link to post

JohnGalway 1,043
Join Candlepowerforums if you haven't already, ask if they've seen that problem before. It might be something simple. Email whoever you bought it off and inform them also, they may be able to help via email or send it back. Edited November 19, 2012 by JohnGalway Quote Link to post

JohnGalway 1,043
Right, I've had a very unsatisfactory night.. There's a heap of moisture in the air here, can see the droplets floating by on the breeze, propper shitty out. Then it started raining I could make out a sheep, and rabbit eyes past 220 yards with the Crelant on the scope, but I need a few things to be happy: A decent night. The FandyFire and my Lightforce. For that moon to f**k off. When I get them ducks in a line I'll be able to say more. Quote Link to post

JohnGalway 1,043
Did you got for the neutral white or cool white LED, mine is neutral. Not sure I'll head out tonight, on two hills today looking for sheep and generally f****d now. If the weather we're getting continues on into the dark there'll be no point in me going out anyway. JohnGalway 1,043
Ahm, I don't think it will. I think they've labelled all the boxes the same, or that's what i was told on CPF. Email the seller and ask would ya. I'd be very hesitant to say mine will shine 600 yards, but then again it was a real shit night. The only time mine had blinked at me is when I put it to full power using the button at the side. Doesn't blink after turning on. I'd say that's a fault in yours? Quote Link to post
JohnGalway 1,043
I had expected more. Took the Crelant out for a quick test, not hunting, just looking around. Air quality much better tonight. I could see the individual metal bars on a sheep hurdle leading into our dipping pond 220 meters away. Would I shoot a fox with it at that range tonight? I'm really not sure at the moment. Didn't help that there were no animals what so ever to test it on in that or neighbouring fields. I was hoping I'd have a 250 yard light at the least and would have been delighted with 300. So yeah how many shots do I take over 220 yards, not many, but sometimes there's a need to do so and I like having my options open to me. Quote Link to post
JohnGalway 1,043
Hmm, a member on CPF raised an interesting point earlier. He reckoned I could get more throw out of the torch by twisting the Collimator head. Now I don't know if that's so or not but it's something I'm going to try. Unfortunately it's likely to be the weekend before I get the chance. Quote Link to post
