sweater 24
Been thinking today a bout breeding dogs and Tbh I wouldn't ever breed a bitch if I had one as I wouldn't be able to handle a litter however iv a young dog here and I was thinking if he keeps up the way he is going then I'd be happy to take a pup from him. I had a good think and Tbh I don't know what kinda bitch a would put him over (well into the future) so if you lads had the dog what would you put him over. The dog in question is 21tts 32lb and is lurcher to lurcher bred made up mainly saluki whippet, he is a handydog on edible quarry and give 110% on every thing Atb jcm The majority of lurchers bred are on a whim, the owner is unsure when, why and how to source or choose the right dog to breed from or with, they own a dog, that to them is a worthy cause, they seldom are and then breed for breedings sake.If in doubt don,t breed, you will just be adding to the endless puppy bandwagon that new owners are to eager to jump on.Experience is the best educater, but beware the more experienced about where the education was wasted. That's what you call kennel blind, I'm not kennel blind iv seen some bad some average and some great dogs, and I know the difference and I know what I want and expect from a dog, I like a dog who is handy around rabbit holes whilst out ferreting, exceptional on the lamp a dog that can use his nose in and around cover and a dog that can handle a long retrive and my dog cuts the mustard so far, that why I think if the dog keeps up the way he is going he will be a very worth dog to produce a litter so I can take a pup from him if you know what you wants .then why you asking on here feller .no wonder the lurcher game is in the mess its in Quote Link to post

jcm 2,327
Yet again people talking shit, iv come on to ask a question do my homework sort of speak and then have lads chatting shit yet again, I'd say it's better to do your home work and find out what has worked best for people rather than jump on the ban wagon and put him to any bitch if the owner has the stud fee. However I'd rather do my hone work source a good bitch what will be ready for a litter in a few years to come once both dogs have had at least 4 hard seasons under them . 1 Quote Link to post
