When they're under pressure they will go anywhere they feel safe mate. ATB

With all the rain we have hares are in cover or higher ground.Said the we are going have the coldest winter in 100 years.Few mates do cover and are seeing good number off hares maybe beating them out

wet summers and wet winters are stopping the leverets from thriving and also they will be lying up in woods and hedges when the weathers like this hares dont want to lie out in soggy waterlogged field

I quite believe it. Just not something I thought happened more than once in a blue moon.

Ya learn something new everyday.

2 went down badger sett and other in rock piles seen another hit rabbit sett

I never knew that. As the lad says you learn something new every day..

Why do some people disbelieve that hares sometimes go to ground when hard pressed ???

Cheers.

Mountain hares will go to ground quite readily. Ive only seen brown hares go to ground twice in all my years. Squirrels will go to ground when chased through the trees with a catty, they run to the ground and disappear in rabbit holes. Seen it loads of times.

I thought you'd been at it for years, way before the ban???? Surely you'd have seen a hare run then. If you've never seen it why are you telling people how it is? Best to leave any advice to those that have done it.
