small ish lurcher wanted

Recommended Posts

right lads i was wondeing if anyone could help me out i am after a dog for my little brother who is (15), He wants to get into the lurcher game i dont want anything to big for him really this will be the only dog he has it will be used to bushing and lamping mostly, Now i dont want him to have a pup because he is still to young to bring a lurcher on etc. But i no that buy buying a dog ready to start working you are buying someones bad habbits but as its his first dog i am not after a wold beater just something decent enough to bad some bunnies and give 100% and keep the lad on the right tracks instead of going off the rails.

i no its a long shot but i am just after a dog that knows what its job is already or it will be like the blind leading the blind  as i dont get to see him as much as i would like to see things are going as they should. please lads no big fooking half bullxs or anything like that  and a reasonable price

cheers and all the best

and please no yappers or open uppers

or whatever you wanna call em :icon_eek:

get him to bring a pup on, that feeling when it catches its first bunny is unreal. get a bond with it

i really dont think he could do it with school and that and i dont want him getting down harted and giving up before he even gets to work the dog properly, i think one ready to go would be the best for him if i am honest ;)

i aint there all the time to oversee things and even if i was it still wouldnt turn out any good  he is at that age were he wants to catch stuff and i dont think a pup is the way to go it will end up a bag of shit. when he had learnt and had experience and the bug has bitten then he will be ready for a pup ;)

Im 15 and been into for 5 or so years, i have a bull cross and theyre not always lunatics mate, Id advise a pup to be honest, if you dont think he is into it enough or knows enough top bring a pup on then i dont think he should have one at all, good luck in the search though mate but i would say itll be pretty tricky finding a ready made dog this time of year

I know what your saying mate but i was the same at his age and i didnt have anyone to teach me or oversee things. Get him on here get him out with you and let him see how much time and effort it is. My younger brother loves bieng out with the dogs BUT if he wants to get into dogs he can get a pup and work it all out himself ..... Then he should appreciate a decent dog. Just my opinion. ATB

he has brought up a gun dog from a pup lads he knows the score about looking after them. the thing is a lucher is a different ball game and a few of his mates are into it and taking there dogs out who are ready to start and he wants to go out now with his mates and be a lad. i have told him and me old mother about a pup and neather of them will have it so it is really out the question. i would love him to have a pup but i dont get over too see him too much as i have said and his mates are working theres now and he just wants to get out i suppose
