cheers mate that fur would get caked running and sliding about in some fields here lately maybe if i was into show dogs but think theres better about for what i want love to see one behind a decent rabbit though

 

The coat wouldn't be any different in the field to some of the rough coated little lurchers like the beddy crosses

Some of them modern beddys have terrible coats,,, proberbly due to crossing god knows what in to the show strains,,, poodle , think some of those British bred borzoi's, had lassie collie added,, another dog with a horrible silky coat.

 

That back on the one pictured would put me off,

the coats on the ones in the mag weremuch longer like a borzoi and why have they 'created' a running dog breed just for showing i know a lot of people show whippets but the breed was originaly for coursing hunting etc so if it dont add anything to ability then seems a waste of time making a new breed just to look at

Oh maybe... I could be wrong then,,, wouldn't be the first time,,,lol

 

Still a horible looking coat,, same as some of those beddy crosses, ,, there two fine and whispey these days,, better harder wiry coats on some of the other breeds of terrier
