the_stig 6,614
i loved the bruno era -- some cracking under cards --long trecks up and down the m1 time spent with some good mates .. did the moter show at earls court then onto bruno bugner at white heart lane my mate carried bags of car posters ,books and stickers for his kids around all day and night then left em on the train .. mexlad 189
Tufty there wasnt any decent boxers in his era just my opinion. Iv never rated mike tyson he hand picked hes fights by fighting the likes of bruno who to me wasnt a good boxer.when he fought lewis he got beaten and when he fought holyfield he couldnt handle the pressure. And bit him.when he was at his best he fought bums and won.in this era weve got furey price both klitchkos.and by the way iv not conterdicted myself saying je was in the top 3 as there was no1. Else and he was the best of a bad bunch.so if you dont like my opinions dont read them thats upto you. tyson could not handle the pressure i was there bud tyson could not handle holyfields stlye and bit him out of frustration and the rematch and the lewis / tyson the latter was a fighter not a boxer , holyfied could box and fight , lewes had it all , tysons down fall was don king and he followed like a lamb , holyfied tried to wind up lewis at the garden by having his minders push and shove him as he came out and down into the ring lewis just laughed differant mind set and differant class to be fair holyfield kept head butting tyson

gnasher16 30,121
Personally i dont think Tyson bit him out of frustration i think he bit him because getting disqualified was in his eyes better than quitting !...........He knew the fight was going in the same direction as the first and saw it as a more " butch " way of getting out of the fight than quitting on his feet..........if it was pure blind frustration why do it a second time. Not sure how you can say Tyson handpicked his fights he fought what was out there....which admittedly wasnt much in comparison to other eras......i think he was probably the most overated heavyweight in history, but he didnt duck anyone. fact he ducked george foreman
gnasher16 30,121
fact he ducked george foreman Im not 100% but if my memory serves me right pre Douglas, Foremans comeback wasnt seen as anything more than a novelty (all the fighting preacher stuff )........so it wasnt really a serious option ......then having lost to Douglas Tyson was being accused of ducking Razor Ruddock on his comeback who was seen as the more dangerous opponent.......had he fought Foreman he would of been accused of ducking Ruddock and vice cersa....as it turned out he fought Ruddock around the same time Foreman fought Holyfield.....Tyson won Foreman lost so the fight lost its appeal.................sometimes fights just cant get made it dont mean anyone ducked each other.
