ledders666 6
Im shooting a aa s200 .177. I have my gun zeroed at 30 yards. I zero it whilst sat on a picnic style bench. Shooting like this is very accurate. The problem I get is when I move on to my bipod led on the ground. The shots then become very inconsistant and not accurate. Would anyone be able to shed some light on this? thanks Quote Link to post
Matley 9
Different head position on stock/movement in bipod ? Quote Link to post
fraggle101 28
Make aure the action is secure in the stock, and the bipod is secruly fitted to the stock.. make sure there is no movement between the three.. Quote Link to post

Phantom 631
Wobbly bipod? Or quite possibly Paralax error caused by your eye positioning when shooting in the prone position. Do you zero on the bench with a bipod? Tony Quote Link to post
fraggle101 28
Also, as Matley said, make sure you keep your head in the same position when taking the shots, you could be getting paralax error.. Quote Link to post
ledders666 6
.. I havent tried the bipod on the table. On the ground its very sturd. I thought it may be a different haed position but its the inconsistancy which gets me Quote Link to post
ledders666 6
The bipod isnt secure to the stock its one of these http://www.jsramsbottom.com/products/bipods--rests-bipods/gtbipodabs-guntuff-abs-bipod---fits-most-break-barrel--underlevers.html would that make such a difference even on a pcp as its very sturdy when aiming? im sure my head is in the same position i did try to move it about but it didnt help Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
Your point of impact will be different if you use this type of bipod pal. The S200 only as a few inches of barrel sticking out after the cylinder and if you attach a bipod on the barrel you will totally change the harmonics of how the rifle discharges. Even a so called recoilless rifle isn't recoilless (hammer bounce etc) hence your higher impact on the target. This is magnifying a ballistic process called JUMP. Also the added weight of the barrel bipod with cause the barrel to lift under its own weight from the stock and action causing your impact to be higher. Barrels need to be free from harmonic obstructions, better fit a bipod to the stock pal. Si. 4 Quote Link to post
ledders666 6
Great advice thank you. I will purchase one to fit the stud. The clip on one seemed a good idea for a fiver. Thanks everyone Quote Link to post
