Yeah mate, I know. I have recently been taking her for walks on hard ground. It's been too convenient for me as i'm surrounded by fields... And I would rather walk her in them in hope of a quick run, instead of around the village... But yeah, I agree they could do with tightening up a little 1 Quote Link to post

The road work is paramount though. I know what you mean, I'm in the same boat. Loads of fields and woodland nearby and too easy to go for a mooch instead of roadwork but it must be done. Feet look alot better for it and less injurys. Gaz Quote Link to post
Millet 4,497
I vary it 1/2 hour in the field's to get the pee and doo doo out of them then onto the road for 1hr finnished of with another hour on the field's..that's just walk's by the way and giving them half hour free to start with stop's the ball ache of stopping every two minutes to empty themself's once you are in your stride.. Matt3699 142
I have been taking her out on the road this week. Only 20 - 30 mins to break her into it. But I have noticed split feet and bleeding just from quick walks. Is this something that will pass or am I going to keep getting this problem? It's a little concerning.. Quote Link to post
Millet 4,497
Little and often Matt and the pad's will start to toughen up ready for longer walk's.. Also if i remember correctley if you rub a bit of surgical spirit onto the pad's that also help's harden them up..but avoid the split area's as the dog will probabley hit the roof..
