TOMO 27,175
had a look up north last night with vin, the wind was howling but the temp was 13.5 degres oc, very very mild for the dogs. Arrived at the farm at 11. and by the time we had walked up the farm track to the fields we had 10 in the bag wich we had kept dropping off on the walls as we moved along. Up on to the top fields and we split up , vin one side and me the other, moving along parralel to each other. Vin was just getting a few ,where as I was having the most of it with rabbits running in to the bank I was walking next to, by the time I got to the last field on this bit I had about 20, I think vin had around 10,, but I could see Venus was looking tiered , so no big bags were going to be taken by her tonight. On to the next bit with us walking together , it was nice to see Molly taking one ot two out of the seat, in fact she seamed to be getting better as we went along, the last field in particular wich had been muck spreaded,, it's not usual to find rabbits when they have been spreaded , but this one had a good few dotted about, and Molly was making short work of them. Where as Venus was becoming more jaded , it was time to lead her up and call it a night. As we walked back to the car Molly cought a few more, when we got back we counted up and had 43 Venus catching 25 and Molly had 18 ,and for once an early finish , done and dusted by 2am wich makes a change from my usual 6 am marathons . Just a great night with no rain but blowing a gale , if only I had the dog real fit, Vin will put up a few pics 14 Quote Link to post

Born Hunter 17,832
TOMO, I like the way you say "by the time I got to the last field on this bit I had about 20, I think vin had around 10,, but I could see Venus was looking tired , so no big bags were going to be taken by her tonight.". If I had 20 with one dog every bugger would be hearing about it for at least a month! lol. Just shows the numbers you are used to and the work you are putting infront of your dogs. Credit to you and nice write up. 2 Quote Link to post
