You could use shelving brackets to hold the poles in, just get the duct tape out, to attach them!

Could you not Bend the metal down in to a U shape ,, same as master hunter baskets ?

 

Or off the top of my head you MAY be able to fashion some kind of uprights out of 2 or 3 mil fencing wire

i agree, thats done the trick, iv been told of a guy selling the longnet baskets inc p+p £29 so thinking of getting one myself, if i tried making one i know it wouldnt look nout like yours, thats pretty good though atb with it mate,, let us know how you get on!

What sort of wire did you make the pole holders from? Do you think it would be strong enough for making the basket frame?
