rossthedog 76
bellman and flint, realtree suit, four wheel drive, all the strong stuff gear .seems to me that all these essentials except the locator of some sorte arnet all that essential to much emphasis on looking the part and not enough on getting out digging, surely ime not the only one with a terrier or 2 and lurc:her in the back of the mondeo ,my terrier isnt even wheeler, stephens or breay bred lol ,its all getting a bit to eletist for my likes . 2 Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
Now i know what you are saying . . . . But with any kind of sport, including hunting, having good, fit for purpose gear, can make life a lot easier! A good locator is essential i would say. Spending 20-40 quid on good leads, couples, slips, collars whatever for your dogs to wear day in day out, isnt an extravagance! And a decent 4x4 would be very handy if you do a lot of hunting on large parcels of land, especially terrier work. WHile i agree, that how you look, isnt important, having the right tools for the job is, and whilst snobbery can be a pain, inverted snobbers can be just as bad or worse. 2 Quote Link to post

Not that much if your dogs are out a lot. I spent 20 quid on a collar for mine, and if he wears it for ten years, thats 2 quid a year. . . . . . . Quote Link to post

Bryan 1,362
I use Strong Stuff's gear because it out performs and out lasts anything else. I want a collar or lead that will never fail and I'm happy to pay for that. It's not because of how it looks. 1 Quote Link to post

Work them hard 339
I find it funny with the whole real tree look being turned into casual wear, I was at a fur and feather auction the other week and the amount of folk who turned up in full real tree camo was crazy! I would prefer to have the right gear for the job in hand even of its more expensive, I don't go and buy my strong stuff gear, bellman and 4x4 etc to look the part as I don't care what other folk think, as long as the gear I use is up to. The job and I'm getting plenty of digging I'm happy. Quote Link to post
