Paid 935
Because they are marginally better than the old mini head light and acid burns down ya back lol. The led torches are good, but they are still no where near a striker, sure i would use one over a cluelight, but they suck compared to a striker

I could make out a river 707 yards down the valley from me with my Thrunite TN31 a few nights ago. That's far enough for anyone doing anything at night on this site. Paid 935
and you feel the led is better ? or just nearly as good ? Sure they are coming on well, and will soon rival, and one day surpass the striker, but that day is not yet here imho.
young man 225
is there any outher rpoblems on them?
paulus 26
is there any outher rpoblems on them? the power connectors are crap and you need half of halfords stock of insulation tape to make it capable of being taken out after dark, other than that there fine
JohnGalway 1,043
It's much better if you consider you need no leads, no back pack and no heavy lead acid battery / potential bomb Li-ion battery. There isn't much in it in performance. I easily spotted sheeps eyes well past 500 yards the same night, the farthest I've spotted foxes eyes with my Striker with it's 100W bulb is something around 629. A foxes eyes reflect brighter and are noticible farther away than a sheeps eyes. The only thing to be aware of it the LED tint and the job you want to do with it. Paid 935
They do contain lithium batteries, so that problem is still present, in a small pocket sized pipe bomb type container. But maybe we are looking at this from different angles, for a shooter, i supppose they are already as good, to some one running a dog, the bigger beam of the striker is better. The tourches are certainly better as a package, small, and wire less as you say. But the beam is not as good imho for running a dog. i also find the striker works better with a 50w bulb, not a 100w
JohnGalway 1,043
Single cell protected lithium batteries though, not lithium battery packs. Three incidents, dangerous ones have involved two Deben battery packs, and one was a Night Vision Li-ion battery pack. One started a fire in a garage, the remains of another were put up in photos on here, and the NV one was on another site and put a lad in hospital with eye injuries. I can't say I've seen incidences with protected single cell Li-ion batteries and I've been asking on CPF. Bigger beam, how so? I use the TN31 I have solely for spotting, not for shooting with, while throw was important, spill/halo was equally important for me as a pencil beam is SFA use to me. I've another flashlight mounted on the scope for that job. The spot is a good size IMO and there's a decent halo too, it's got adjustable power settings, pretty much like a dimmer, the only thing you can't do with it is focus it. I don't run dogs so I can comment on the practicalities of that. I suspect it may be the tint of the LED that's causing you trouble? The Neutral White tint is described as "for looking at the leaves on the trees", in that it gives better colour definition so objects are easier to pick out. The Cool White tint is for the throwers, it washes out colour but (if the stats on the EagleTac site are similar tot he Thrunite torches) throws about 7-10% farther. I was always told dog men had to give their quarry a good tug on the tail they were so good on sneaking up on them, maybe I was told fibs A 50W bulb is better than a 100w in a Striker? It'll give you more battery time and less light yes, but better how? A 100W will throw out more light farther, that's where a dimmer pays for itself but they break as often as landrovers as well Oh, and the TN31 is cheaper than a new striker as well
