No it's to do with a man that is part of a regiment that does all this country's dirty work that most soliders couldn't & that most men would piss there pants at the thought of it, he happily puts

Only when it suits the powers that be (Close protection, armed response, airport security all carrying). This guy made what looks like a mistake and his 17 year loyal service ends in disgrace not to

OK so it was illegal I just believe this didn't need to go to court. The weapon wasn't used it was a gift that was locked away some time ago at worst he should have had a bollocking from his c/o and leave it at that.

For all that have the opinion he's done the crime he should do the time etc etc, I'm curious would you say a 90 year old soldier from WW2 with an old trophy luger squirrelled away in his attic should be banged up for a couple of years if it's found?

alzheimers suffers can forget a lifetime never mind someone with ptsd

<_< Please! We do not become 'Senile'.

Maybe he couldn't face unpacking it in case it brought back memories he didn't want bringing back, and just left the case lying under a bed or in a cupboard out of the way? :hmm:

being a former serviceman myself and now a ssafa caseworker ive have a good understanding of the effects of ptsd in both service and civillian life. combat stress do sterling work in its treatment. however its also used by some as an excuse for their actions, no different to an alcholic who claims he carnt remember what he did as he was drunk.

:good: Thank you! Now That statement ~ at last ~ shows a little understanding of PTST.

But, let's not lose sight of one rather glaring anomaly here? This guy's obviously had a full blown check up, from the neck up (He's suffering from memory loss, caused by a fever) I'd imagine, if he had PTSD, they'd have spotted that and would doubtless have used it in his defense.

you cant have 1 rule for one and 1 rule for another.... he broke the law and will face punishment simple as that really

Thats the whole point mate , we already have 1 rule for some and 1 for others. How many politicians, police chiefs, council leaders and the rest have been caught bang to rights yet still walked away with their big fat pensions intact claiming it was all a "mistake"?
