I personally think its a Disgrace , this man put his life on the line for 17 yrs for his country . . . What does that count for . . NOTHING BY THIS SENTENCE . . . If those in power and I'm talking Pri

No it's to do with a man that is part of a regiment that does all this country's dirty work that most soliders couldn't & that most men would piss there pants at the thought of it, he happily puts

Only when it suits the powers that be (Close protection, armed response, airport security all carrying). This guy made what looks like a mistake and his 17 year loyal service ends in disgrace not to

Not saying I agree with the sentence but what did the bloke expect?... SAS or not you ain't allowed 9mm glocks in this country, pretty obvious that he would get in shit for it.

Only when it suits the powers that be  (Close protection, armed response, airport security all carrying). This guy made what looks like a mistake and his 17 year loyal service ends in disgrace not to mention his career is over. I mean its not like he was walking round the city centre with it on him was it, it was locked away  FFS this country seems to have a knack of being lenient on the ones really out to do wrong and throw the book at others.

He could have that P.T.S.D., f**k that

:shok: I beg your pardon! I have " That PTSD ". I also have the right to own, and Do posess, firearms. Just how many lunatics and drug dealing types, convicted of firearms offences, do you know who were shown to be suffering PTSD?

In fact; How many firearms offences can you list which were proven to be caused by dint of the fact that the firearm holder was suffering Post Traumatic Stress Disorder?

With 'our side' spouting stuff like that, kis it any wonder the only people in UK now with such guns are criminals and politicians?

Oh. Wait a minute ..... " and " ? Sort of presupposes a distinction, doesn't it? <_<

In the past couple of years there have been countless occasions when politicians and people in power have been caught bang to rights stealing and fiddling all kinds of things, and every one has called it either an "oversight", "accident" or "mistake", and got away with it

Why can't a guy who is actually useful to the country claim the same thing?

If those in power and I'm talking Prime minister doesn't step in here then that will show ALL those who fight for the country those who send them to these wars don't give a fukc when they need a little support , though Cameron may be busy txt chatting his friend Rebekah Brooke's !! This man created a new Field Dressing which has been named in his honour and now being used by Special forces in the field and Paramedic's saving countless lives , I know that doesn't give him the right to walk from charges but surely looking at the details off the case only an Idiot would off moaned if he was given the benefit off the doubt and released to go back and being a credit to his family and country . . . I'm confident to say NOT ANOTHER COUNTRY IN THE WORLD WOULD TREAT THERE OWN THIS WAY !

but they did treat him diffrently.the sentence he got reflects that.

give him a slap on the wrist, and loads of other returning soldiers "could" think yay and bring back guns and mementos.like ww11 f**k some old soldiers had mg40s in there lofts and lugars and shells.the first gun amnesty i think was in the 50s and you could have armed a small nation with the stuff they brought back from europe. im pretty sure you lads with kids, wouldnt want them falling into the wrong hands.

i see what your saying Scott , but what reason would you and I be holding that Gun for ?? He was awarded it for his Bravery apparently so that's why he had it , his 2 collegues where killed and he was tasked to accompany there bodies home , so his mates packed his stuff for him which was shipped back and it was said the Gun had been in the Box it was initially put in for yrs , now if he'd off brought it back himself and was not Awarded it I'd agree with you mate , but for me the circumstances surrounding this case tells me the sentence is wrong , just my opinion mate .
