Gaz_1989 9,539
Had a PM yesterday after putting a thread up to see who was planning litters in the near future. The lad is planning to put a real top quality working collie/grey over his own working deer/grey as soon as she comes in season and he has offered to gift me a pup from this mating. It's exactly the sort of thing I've been after and I have insisted that I won't accept the pup for free, but his response was "I've only bred to keep one myself, I've seen how well you have done with your saluki cross so if you want one put the money in your tank to come fetch it." Now he could of been the complete opposite and knocked these out for £250 a pup or more, his bitch is well proven and the sire is very well known. I've not put any names up, if he advertises pups at a later date that's up to him. I am really looking forward to the day I pick my pup up, cannot wait! Atb. Gaz 2 Quote Link to post

FUJI 17,327
Good luck Gaz...plenty of decent folk about just that there's more knobs ..sometimes gifting a pup to someone unknown can often be a bad thing...it cost nothing so in monetary terms it's worthless and if it ain;t that "golden egg" they were expecting then the jukel is passed on and on and on...by paying for something imo you are more likely to care and look after your possesion and may be more reluctant to get rid?..not always the case but i dare say more often than not?...Anyhow,best of luck and my hats tipped to the man who made the offer... 4 Quote Link to post

Gaz_1989 9,539
Cheers lads. The pup will certainly be well looked after. I've never been in a position before where I've got a working dog and raised a pup along side, thus giving the pup as long as possible to mature. It's always been a rush to get it going. I'm going to try the slow and steady approach this time, no rush for anything. Just plenty of bonding and socialising Gaz 4 Quote Link to post
