Any one else struggling?

Have just got some new ground which is holding good numbers, the other orchards we do are pretty low but I have hammered them with the rimmy.

Iv only been out with the ferret once this season and popped 3 out out a 5 holer, Cover is still too HIGH here.But even lamping its a great night if your getting 10

Hopefully a few more hard frost round this way will flatten it enough get abit done....... I only had one decent frost this yr so far everything is still waist high.....

i was out today and bolted a skud a young rabbit the size of your hand and seen two hares paired up with it been so mild

still plenty of cover here in most spots,the places we have be able to get to so far certainly not holding the numbers they did last season,the only plus side is we still have plenty of land to go at yet once the cover has really died back,lamping has been hit and miss,though last nite was clear and still and we had plenty of squaters out in the middle of feilds,was nice to get some decent runs for a change.

I hunt rabbits all over the country . . . . and they are down everywhere. Even places with a decent population, are still less over run than previous years!

Fortunately I am able to diversify...And we have a few other species to keep us occupied during this low point...

 

But as they as always do, the rabbits will come back again

I'm not so sure, and i know how many folk will tell me i'm wrong. . . . . . but still.

So it's not just my Area then,never know it like this there is a few buzzards about the area I suppose with them and the weather it's taken it's toll on the rabbit population.

my permissions been crap,no numbers at all and its not the best permission to begin with ,last year i avraged 10 per outing mor or less,this year ive struggled to get even 3 or 4, its lots of walking,mainly ditches and hedgerows, luckily i put an ad on this site and a couple of guys have helped me out with some better ferreting.

im not always bothered about large numbers i can enjoy a day in the field anyway but this year my permissions been piss poor ....................jim

I'm not into the numbers game but its nice to get a couple when I go out just so I can feed the ferrets but so far rubbish
