pianoman 3,587
Hi Skot. You just never know from rifle to rifle, which pellet is going to deliver the fullest potential, until you try them mate. But these days, it's a bloody dear do with the price of ammo that works, let alone testing and rejecting the ones that don't! Lewis, if you don't mind, I'll PM my address mate. Thanks a lot that's really kind of you! Best wishes lads. Simon Quote Link to post
RAMCAM 4
Hi Simon The H&N ftt and Barracuda Match (Bisly Mags) were equal to the AA fields 4.5 out to 40 Yards, past this range the AA's were most accurate. They are the best pellets for my .177 100t, 97k and .22 fn8 pistol. Alan Quote Link to post
Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
Pellet testing is a right chore lol and yep its expensive. need to get some free time and decent weather to get the 97 out. last i remember tho the zero was shifting around allover the bloody shops. it would be ok for 10-15 shots and then jump an inch or 2 in a random direction. any ideas why??? Its an mtc mamba lite and sportsmatch one piece mount so not exactly cheap shnit. Edit.. i was holding the rifle pretty much exactly the same position eye relief etc for every shot so that rules out me holding it wrong. and like i said mounts and scope arent cheap crap so that rules that out. also both the turrets were pretty much centred click wise when i mounted the scope and didnt need that much adjusting. so why wont it bloody hold zero? woodcote1 88
What scope are you going to mount on it? JSB Excats are another great .177 pellet. Quote Link to post

Elliott 436
I must admit, I think the thumbhole stocks do feel more comfortable to hold. I picked up a 97KT in my local shop and it seemed a perfectly balanced rifle Edited November 10, 2012 by Elliott 1 Quote Link to post

It'll need to be calibrated with Chairgun but, I love how it works. Skott I think Davy has it here for your answer, it's always a consistency with harmonics on the rifle that determines what and why it's shooting to. Hold and follow-through might need attention here. Gusty wind conditions are hardly ideal are they...Laddie! Get out when the winds are low and assess yourself and you'll soon get your rifle singing again mate! Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
Hi Elliott. You're absolutely right mate. The thing I found with the thumbhole stock of this rifle is that it performs better than it looks. The HW97KT is a superbly balanced rifle. Having said all of that though, I'm now thinking on what it would be like with my HW77's stock fitted...??? I think it could be incredible. Best regards. Simon Quote Link to post
woodcote1 88
Just go all out and treat yourself to a custom stock, its only money after all!! Quote Link to post

bigmac 97kt 13,786
Gentlemen. There's a busy time in shooting for me coming up. The UK Spring Rifle Championships are in my sights for next year as well as our own HFT at the Nottingham meet in January PLUS The Spring rifle VS PCP challenge I'm going to be shooting with Davy... Sooooo....Thanks to the major amounts of praise for the Weihrauch HW97KT I've been reading, plus the fact that I love all things Weihrauch-shape, I've spent a very enjoyable afternoon range-testing one in .22 at Redbeck Shooting Supplies and so impressive was the performance, I've ordered one in .177 as a competition HFT rifle. Mine is to be a beech thumbhole version. (Feels and handles a bit like the good old SLR from my service days!). So. My question now, is Ammo! What pellets do you lads who own or, have owned one of these beauties recommend for this rifle? Thanks in anticipation of answers. Best wishes and regards. Simon the Pianoman HI simon as you know i only use jsb exact 15.89 gr in all of my rifles othow all of mine are 22 so i can not say what they are like in 177 but most of the lads at the shooting range have bought them in 177 and they are amazed at there hitting power and accuracy some of the lads even travel from newcastle to ashington to buy them as they cant get them there give them a go ithink you will be suprised atvbmac Quote Link to post

Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
Well i dont think its me holding or folowing through wrong to be honest it wasnt windy either. after only 400 pellets i expect it to be a bit inconsistent but it was stil putting out decent groups. they were just shifting around all over the target. i was going to chrono it but friggin batteries went dead on combro so just spent 8 friggin quid on new ones. then i took the 95 out later the same day and it was bang on. But surely the scope should hold its zero even when the 97 is still bedding in...i can understand larger more spread out groupings but they should be in the same place surely?! Quote Link to post
