pianoman 3,587
Gentlemen. There's a busy time in shooting for me coming up. The UK Spring Rifle Championships are in my sights for next year as well as our own HFT at the Nottingham meet in January PLUS The Spring rifle VS PCP challenge I'm going to be shooting with Davy... Sooooo....Thanks to the major amounts of praise for the Weihrauch HW97KT I've been reading, plus the fact that I love all things Weihrauch-shape, I've spent a very enjoyable afternoon range-testing one in .22 at Redbeck Shooting Supplies and so impressive was the performance, I've ordered one in .177 as a competition HFT rifle. Mine is to be a beech thumbhole version. (Feels and handles a bit like the good old SLR from my service days!). So. My question now, is Ammo! What pellets do you lads who own or, have owned one of these beauties recommend for this rifle? Thanks in anticipation of answers. Best wishes and regards. Simon the Pianoman 1 Quote Link to post

davyt63 1,845
hi Simon nice choice in my .22 i use H&NFTT 5.53 but try the H&NFTT 4.50/4.51 they seem to work well in most of my PCP's and my AATX too. but i think scot has just got one in .177 so may be he will have a answer for you,but if you need to test any get in touch! as i have a few kicking around, and other brands too 1 Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
Thanks Davy, that's really kind of you so, when it gets here I'll let you know. I saw your previous remarks about giving your TX200 another chance to redeem itself after your placing with it. We'll get together with it when I'm down at Helen's again soon, if you can meet up?! Regarding your TX200. Sounds to me like you are a bit less than happy with it mate. I have a beautiful TX20HC .177 in walnut but, I feel that the Weihrauch rifle is the one to go into the competition arena with. Just that I love Weihrauch's straight-to-the-point handling with precision accuracy. The 97KT came over ticking boxes indeed; and for £350 it was too good to let by. Regards mate. Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
now then! my 97kt beech .177 HATES daystate rangemaster li. thats all ive tried through it so far tho lol got some jsb exact for next time i take it out. only had about 3-400 through it so its still near enough brand new. after a strip semi-polish and relube (same as i did with the .22, that was mega-twangy) this bad boy feels great to shoot recoil isnt too bad and it makes a nice thud instead of the boioioioioinggggg that the .22 makes... as milegajo said to me at the meet referring to my .22 97-- "theres quite a lot of twang coming from that badboy" .. the .177 is a total different beast! lol but i wanted to re zero my 95k at 24yards for a pest control job im doing for someone and every time i shoot that rifle it makes me so happy the groups are amazing! hope my .177 97kt likes the jsb's as much as my 95k Quote Link to post

Marksman 934
great choice Simon.... All the 97's Ive had loved Accupels with a passion mate, and the odd H&N FTT when I ran short Darryl 1 Quote Link to post
pianoman 3,587
Cheers for this Darryl. I'm sort of secretly hoping mine will love Accupels too as I really like the look and feel of these pellets. They look well made and like they'll do the job consistantly and superbly well. I just don't have a rifle, as yet, that likes them. I think H&N FTT are a safe bet too mate. Never yet had a Weihrauch rifle that didn't like these. Thanks for all your helpful suggestions here lads. Regards. Simon Quote Link to post
