skycat 6,173
Just come back to this thread and I've got to say that when my dogs went totally on to raw they needed far less than I would have believed possible to survive. My namesake, Skycat, is 23" and gets fat, very fat, on one bit of stripped chicken carcase, a handful of minced meat and veg and a small piece of breast of lamb which the butcher has stripped of most of the meat and fat. And she gets a good hour and a hlaf of exercise every day which is mainly running rabbits round the bushes and hedges where I live. The thing is that meat and bones take far longer to go throught the digestive tract than cereals, which are fairly indigestible for dogs: when you see the tiny amount that they crap when on raw food you realise that they are making far more use of this type of food than they could do when eating cereal based meal. Consequently they need far less: makes sense.

shepp 2,285
Why not try alternating her food between dry, and different meats, i think dogs like a variety like us. If she's one year old then she's done all her growing so you can just see if she's carrying enough weight and has energy then you've got nothing to worry about. Squirrel_Basher 17,100
Skycat has IMO the right answer .Judging by the pic of the dog its fine and eating enough as it is .Dont forget the greens side of raw though mate .
martin 332
I must say that when I went over to raw,I was worried that my pup wasn't getting enough food. But,after awhile I realised that as she was like a dynamo, and just full of go,so it's obvious that she is getting enough.Skycat has it exactly right when he says that they get far more out of it than these cans or dry foods. My brother was up today with his Weimereiner that is fed on dry food, and when it shit I couldn't believe it,there was like 4-5lb of soggy mush .When my JRT has a shit it is like three or four firm cigar stubs. Pipey Magregor 0
Martin thats the same here. When my Dog ate Dry food it came out all mushy just barely keeping its shape, when I started him in the raw stuff, he started shitting alot better and made me alot happier because its easier to clean up . PS. I cant believe I'm sat here talking about dog sh!t lol.
