asking farmers/landowners for permission

I might get ripped for asking this but i was wondering how people approach asking for permissiom on land

Like whats best to say an how to say it what not to say never really had to do it before so any help would be much appreciated

Name dropping helps, if you already know a farmer just mention that you been doing a bit for farmer so and so.............................I start off asking for ferreting first, you are more likely to get a yes and then when you have been doing it a while and he knows you not a numpty ask if you could bring a dog along. Chip away at them dont just go in asking for dog work, you will probably get a knock back.

i normally get in with my birds of prey ,then later on approache them for a bit shooting it works for me

Once you're in the door with one farmer you should find getting permission a lot easier. I can't think of any type of farming that would encourage wild rabbits onto their place and be happy about them. They'll eat all the grass as easy as all the crops.
