jawn 449
Just never sell dogs it's that simple money and dogs should never come together proven or not old dogs or pups nothing has ever left my yard in exchange for cash and never will. My dogs come from the other side of the planet and they ain't free. I've bought plenty that sucked, and been given both good, and bad. But the type I like to hunt aren't easy to come by. I'm not saying they are better or worse than anyone elses. But It's taken years to get what works for what I do. There are greater sins in this world than paying for a damn dog.lol No offense intended. Quote Link to post
possumtrapper 46
My old dog has worked hard for me over the years, he's earned his pension and will spend the rest of his days taking it easy and keeping pups in their place. Selling old dogs is also one of my pet hates, alot of pig hunters sell on older dogs to help younger pups to get going and teach 'em the ropes. My dogs are my mates. 2 Quote Link to post
whippet 99 2,613
This gets my goat, not proven cause thats been done to death on here over the years, but selling older dogs,Iam a dog man always have been always will be, why the thomas cook do you sell an older dog, if its worked for you ? the good times the bad times feck we have all had em, but sell it dont make fecking sense, if youve worked a dog for seven or eight years or two or three and its past it move it to the house, dont try your cock and bull that they wont take to it as your fooling no real dog man, only the fly by nights on here. You carn't keep two together bull shit, whos the boss you or the dog,it fecking pisses me off to see some of the shit posted on here as to why people sell so called proven dogs. any way rant over, dig deep and throw well back if you are in the dog game ,.......you shouldnt be buying or selling,..........good friends give good dogs for good reasons......... i had a 6 year old border lakie given to me ,.......through friends on here off of hunt ,.it now has a permanent home,.........and we dig to her regularly and she a good dog,.......and thats what friends are for.! Born Hunter 17,788
Is it really anybodys business if someone else sells or buys dogs? 3 Quote Link to post
Pigs 73
everyone strives for perfection, even if people dont reach it they might strive for it. i always wanted a black ruff coated stevens dog of the same type my mate has, anyway lad lost his job as a keeper and had to get rid of dog becouse of housing.i bought the dog for £200 after he had 30 odd digs and went on to dig him over 50 times myself over two seasons.\tho i didnt like the way in which he carried out that work he got results.anyway as im creating a russell line of my own i gave the black dog back to keeper lad who has dug him 4 times scince.what im trying to say is that it was better for that dog to go back where the work is as my future work must go to the russells to further develop there line.was no good just sitting in my kennel when someone else could have the use of him. pass on seasond workers by all means if its too the right people and not for a price 2 Quote Link to post

Guest Leveller
No offense intended. None taken personaly I would never charge for a pup/older dog (not that I ever have any spare anyway) each to their own but dogs and cash just shouldn't go together 2 Quote Link to post

Dunkanon 380
Ive sold and gifted proven dogs in the past and Ive also bought proven dogs, thats life with working dogs for me, some Ive had regrets over and other times its proved to be the best descision for me, the dog and the new owners. Kennel space is limited and the odd dog will retire to the couch but rightly or wrongly most wont. 2 Quote Link to post

jawn 449
I don't know much... but it seems to me hunters are in the position that they are because people are a liitle to quick to tell the next man what he should, or shouldn't do with his dogs. Here's the deal... If you decide that buying or selling dogs is offensive. Don't buy or sell dogs. At a minimum each of us should stand for the next mans right to own and hunt the dog of his choice. If you buy... or or gifted a dog or pup, you are going to find plenty of reason to like or dislike the animal and the guy you got it from seperate from whether or not you paid for it. It will succeed or fail of it own abilities. 1 Quote Link to post
