Roge 0
I was at a shoot recently and they had some very well made fox traps - far better than mine. They say that in hard weather they are very effective and are working all the time. I have been looking into the collarum also and it seems to be very effective. Any thoughts on what would be the best investment as neither are cheap. Thanks Quote Link to post
heritage 202
I think both the fox trap & the collarum ( although effective ) are way too expensive, they may be a worthwhile investment if your a pestie as you will soon recoup the initial purchase price but for use on a shoot you can't beat the snare......you could make or purchase over a hundred wires for less than the cost of the above enabling you to cover a larger area at any one time. There are many benefits of using snares but the cost ( in my opinion ) is one of the major plus points.......Atb Quote Link to post
Roge 0
Good point, are there any books that you could recommend that i could read on snaring, I am going to try to get my hands on the Warrener DVD. Anyone got a copy for sale? Quote Link to post
heritage 202
I wouldn't bother Roge.....,if you take a look through to pinned articles & posts there's more information than you'd find on any DVD & if you have any questions there are several first class fox snarers on here that I'm sure would point you in the right direction Quote Link to post
DKGPestControl 22
They are both good, I have 7 of the sx fox cages and 3 collarums, catch well in the cages however don't often catch adult dog foxes in them! That's when the collarum comes in handy. And you don't have to worry about non-tagets as much! Quote Link to post
