shamus 36
I am working my potting/netting boat singlehanded and there is always the possibility of ending up in the gear when shooting away so i want a good knife to hang around my neck, to cut myself loose if need be. Any suggestions?

irishnut 297
I'd be thinking about serrated bit on the blade, any lads I know on the working around ropes like to keep serrated blade for cut loose, it cuts even if you can't hold rope etc. Well that's my 2p worth
midnight 657
thats a good point that and id want stainless if i was working in salt water !! micarta handles not polished for textured grip in wet and mucky hands . maybe even i hi viz one that floats my dad. use to sail yahcts all over the world and they had some really well thought out knives , hi viz orange . floating , stainless etc . as this could be a life saver id look to marine suppliers and see whats on offer from them it might end up being the best money you ever spend , i think a custom is probably not what your looking for in this situation .. bloody hell i feel paniced for you now mate . get looking fast for something . failing that go to aldi or a super market get a serated stainles veg knife and send it over to me i will put an all weather sheath on it and send it back to get you by until you get the proper tool !! all the best , matt
