Roge 0
I bought a fox trap last year and only set it a few times with no success. The trigger mechanism is a wire within a metal sheathed cable - as its been outside it is quite rusy and doesnt move very smoothly. I have oiled it but is is still a bit sticky. The door falls by its own weight in metal tracks and is sometimes slow - I dont want to get a fox in there and the door fail. The existing trigger is meant to work when the cable is pulled it pulls the pin from below the door to allow it to fall. I was trying to add a bungee to the door so it closes 100% but need some advice on the trigger as the current setup is rubbish. Should it use a foot plate trigger or some sort of pull trigger? Thanks R Quote Link to post
Roge 0
I watched last nights fieldsports channel / hunting YouTube and it showed a German wooden trap that used a mouse trap as the trigger mechanism. Anyone got any advice? Quote Link to post
