Guest The Big Fish
Every few days, I have to spend part of my valuable life, sorting through endless amounts of shite emails 'Spam' that have been captured by the Spam filter. If I bothered to count the minutes spent dealing with this crap, I’m sure it would add up to hours of my life wasted. I am compelled to look through each and every page, just encase one serious email might have slipped into the bin by mistake, sometimes it does happen. I am fecking fed up to the back teeth, looking at emails, mostly advertising viagra, or penis enlargement pumps, both of which I DO NOT NEED, yet anyway I have read or heard somewhere, that 90% of the WORLDS Spam, is generated by half a dozen key people. If I could find those people, I would then bother to count up the minutes and hours that I have spent sorting through their shite, then spend that amount of time ramming 'SPAM' down their throats (tin still on), then force feed them viagra, and to finish, stick a penis enlargement pump up their fecking arse! Just encase one of those half a dozen people are reading this: STOP FECKING SENDING IT

Guest Ditch_Shitter
Fisher; I use Yahoo for my 'home' mailer. It has a fair to middling record on spam. Well, saying that; The vast ammounts of the shit that build up in my spam folder most days probably means they have a damn good record! What I do: I send, say you, a mail. I then wonder where ye've got to if I haven't heard back inside 24 hours. Thenn, if ye reply matters to me? I check the spam. But what I also do is, as I go to look at ye reply, I glance at the spam folders index. If it says I have twenty or so bits of shit in there, and I'm not expecting anything, I f*ck it all off with a click. I then figure anything else in there will be shit ~ and delete it in passing ~ till I await another response from a 'new' person I've mailed. Get into that routine and ye seldom have to wade through 100's of " Requesting Yoor Assiztance, Please " crap from Niger's.
ChrisJones 7,975
I delete the lot. Don't even bother looking. The time spent doing it is precious. Imagine reading all those leaflets that come through the letter box. If you're not on my contacts list then I don't want to hear from you. maty j 6
try adjusting the filter. i use hotmail and have it set to exclusive that way all the viagra, home insurance, penis pumps etc get to my junk email box and i dont bother going in there unless as ditchy says, im expecting an email and havnt received it. you can allso add people to your safe list with out adding them as contacts eich is handy. if it still doesnt work, get hunting them down

mad al 146
Just an idea, any of you use "Live Messenger"? or "Spysweeper"? Had a bit of a problem with my PC recently and as this thread says I always have a load of "Spam" too. Anyway playing about with adding the programmes back on the PC, I decided to leave these two mentioned off for a while and guess what...................hardly any "Spam" now Al :clapping:
borderterrier 0
TBF, not sure if you are using Outlook/Outlook Express, but setting one or two message rules up will sort the crap out. I used to get loads, never get any now. Just been on to Orange (probably the best for letting spam through) home page to view my account, 367 messages in the junk box, and 106 unopened. So now if i open Outlook i will connect with the Orange server and i might get one or two personal emails the rest stay with Orange and get dumped in the "junk box", and then are deleted after seven days. Most spam that you get will be a corruption of your email address, EG: big@fish.huntinglife.co.uk, is your address. As long as the bit after the @ is the same it's coming your way. So, xxxxx@fish.huntinglife.co.uk, will get to you. If you set a message rule up say if the TO/CC line does not contain "big"- delete from server, you'll never see them. (if you have more than one account you would have to add that word as well, eg, son@, you would add "son" to the list) If they are using your correct address you can set up a list of words to look for, if any of the words are found in the email, delete from server. Delete from server is in the "select action box" scroll down to find it. This link might help Message Rules Also a search on google for setting Outlook message rules might help also. Of course, if you're not using Outlook/Outlook Express please disregard the above.
