Problem with MK3M. Calibrating advice needed.

Recommended Posts

i rung deben asking for advice, i got a mk3m locater off a friend for cheap he said it needed recalibrating, guy from deben said the mk3 m doesnt need this doing as everything inside is fixed into place unlike the mk1, anyway mine had a faulty coller which deben replaced for free,

try new battieres in box and coller or ring deben there were quite helpful to me!

its wat they call a bonus...you start a 8 ft dig and it ends up being 4 foot..= Bonus. Nearly everytime We use the Mk3 it says the depth is more than it actually is..I dont read the depth , just look at the pretty lights and listen to the beeps..as long As it pinpoints the location im happy. And it does pinpoint it when you get used to all the other little niggly things about them.

You lucky sods. I have the standard MK3 and twice today it read 5ft and as sure as eggs are eggs it was two unlucky 5ft digs down to stop ends through sticky damp clay.

I find that out in the open you don't get an accurate reading and if your locating very close to stock fencing then forget it. The reading goes way off the Richter scale!

I would be interested to here Debens excuses as they fob you off.

Hope you get it sorted

if deben look at it they charge you £30 and then tell you the batterys were no good

They won't be charging me anything because it won't be going to them. I'll call and ask what could be causing the problem and take it from there

I may end up flogging the thing...200 quid anyone haha :whistling:
