If it is a pest control job, maybe a larger cal, even .25, best not have too much over penetration. Should not be too hard to get a FAC if its your job.

If you will be doing long range work then kill zone is spot on with .177, easier drop compensation

If I was you I'd buy second hand, something with out anti tamper for the ease of servicing yourself or if it to go wrong to be able to correct any problem yourself. A rapid should see you fit. Easy to maintain, fac potential if needed, high shot count an robust as the come. I have an old mfr that's been fettled with an made to work spot on after I bought it s/h , it was abit all over the place but good still, but after a couple of bob was spent it was up an running perfect, I prefer it over my daystate too. The scope I got is mamba lite an it just does the trick, I'm loving it atm. But all depends what you have to spend. There's also the Springer route, which is cheaper an self contained...over to you pianoman haha atb
