New Place To Hunt

hey guys i got on to a new place to hunt and tonight i decided to go for a spotlight there was a good night it started off in a stubble paddock and i had seen a heap of hares and i managed to get two to sit still long enough for a shot so it started of pretty good and as i walked down the fence line i could see a set of eyes a long was off so i tried to call it in but it did not want any part of it so i slowly walk towards it and at about 150 meters it stepped out of the grass and was a fox pup so being on a new farm i wanted to keep the farmer happy so i steadied the rifle on the bi-pod and first fox in the bag and as i got to it to take the scalp another pup was sitting about 100 meters away so i shot it as well both them scalped and into the next paddock.... i only walked about 50 meters and spotted another pup so i shot her as well then nothing else was spotted for about a hour then right down the other end of the paddock i spotted another 2 sets of eyes so started walking over to where they where and i seen another 2 fox pups play on top of a den i took the shot and missed both bolted but they did not go down the den one of the pups stopped and looked back and that was the worst thing he could of done he was down and another scalp for me so i started to walk back to the car witch was about 3 kms away by now and as i got into the paddock the car was in i spotted another set of eyes in the middle of it a few blows on the whistle had another fox running at me flat out and had to yell stop just so i could shot her and another one on the ground so all up i ended the night with 2 hares 4 fox pups and a vixen so not a bad way to spend a Saturday night ......cheers foxdriver

yeah we get paid 10 dollars for every scalp from the Victorian government
