neil82 1,083
bit of a technical job to do, unless you have access to some decent machine tools i think you would be better off paying someone else to do it, have seen the threads put up by Ferrets on doing the job but despite having engineering experience would not like to do it myself unless the first gun was something like a b2 to see what the job was like Quote Link to post
barrywhite 282
I did it to a webley omega ,but I have a poor quality lathe ,drilling machine.I cannot see how you could button a piston with out these machines .You drill the side of piston with a flat bottom drill 5mm ish dia .You drill in a to the side of piston 1mm 2mm or so not right through in three correct places .Then turn up three bits of derlin 5mm ish dia xxxxlong that are a tight fit .into the drilled holes glue the derlin buttons into the holes super glue .when the glue is dry turn the buttons xxxlong down by placing the piston into a lath chuck .turn the buttons down until the piston is a nice fit .that is what I did works fine .no one showed me just what I did. worth doing to a gun hw should be easy to do .my 5mm dia size was chosen because I had a flat bottom drill of that size made lying around already made ,it may have been 4mm not sure I did think at the time it was smallish but works fine.
