graham01 1
There are always people in such a large community who are dicks but on the whole they are good people, ive had a hell of a lot of help off there.I met my now good mate and hunting buddy on there,we go out hunting together all the time and Mick has bred harrises this year and gave me a Female!.We had another guy from Scotland give us Debben mk1 ferret finder and even posted it to us! the same guy has sent me a Spaniel training book also. There are things like this going on all the time ive now met quite a few people off there and heve all been brilliant. We heve our own stall at the up and comming Fetival of Falconry where i will hopefully meet a lot more. Its relly up to you mate what you do but i would recommend it to anyone, but there are bad apples on there but you just ignore them, its easy to do! your not stood in a pub with them! Fletcher 0
Graham I was going on there about 3 years ago and got to know a load of people, then the site became more popular and load of new people joined, I use to contribute a fair bit then then I got slagged for putting up a photo of myself with an eagle and her falconer. I couldn't see reason behind it maybe they were bored that night anyway I stopped going on after that, couldn't be bothered with it. But you're right it's great for information. Quote Link to post

jasper65 6
Funny you should say that Gary! I logged on a few times after a period of weeks just to read some PM's! and he was on there ! its a shame but its one site hijacked by pretenders full of idle shit! with far too many people who know shit all about falconry! there's a good few gennuine guys on there but by f**k a large percentage of them are total Nobbers. I know a good fair few lads on there who are ok but what pisses me off is there is some seriouse Dweebs offering dangerouse advice to newcomers and other people alike, like One guy I was Introduced too in 1999 who then invited me to go and see his birds is offering all sorts of advice to new lads in the sport. when I went round his he had a 3 year old Female pere bred by Martin jones with a drooped wing and still carried brown feathers from its first year and a Fem HH, both birds had no colour to their cere's legs and feet and had a real pale muggy colour to them, underneath the block was a few chicken leg and wing bones, I found out later all his birds had ever been fed on was bags of frozen chicken peices from the super market and nothing else. The guy was a sensless twat but liked to pose! he told me the Peregrine came to him with a broken wing as a young bird from jonesy but I know thats no way the case, to cut a long story short it now seems he has read a few books and talks the talk and people are fooled, as I'm sure you know there is plenty of that on there mate! some of the posters on there who have thousands of posts should try and get out there and do it instead of writing about it, my own personal opinion is the Internet did Falconry no favours! its good to make new gennuine contacts but produced far too many keyboard warriors..... Cheers Jasper Quote Link to post
