lanesra 3,994
I Once remember Liverpool dominating English football . . . Some on here weren't even born then lol , in fact won't be long till its 25yrs since they won the Title , Quarter of a century !! GIve it another few years and you could say the same about Arsenal......and in their defence LIverpool do win something now and again.........The annoying part for Gooners is......Liverpool dont win the league because they cant Arsenal dont win the league because they wont ! Gnash yours is an opinion what might happen with Arsenal , what I've said is fact , I'm talking about the Title , which means your the best team that season , which has Eluded them for nearly 25yrs after Dominating for so long so they haven't been the top team in England for a long long time ! Oh its facts you want to talk about is it.................who has had more success over the last 7 years Arsenal or Liverpool ? Who is selling their best players and replacing them with average players Arsenal or Liverpool ?......Whether its now or in the past mate Liverpool are a more succesful club than Arsenal as regards trophies won........as you say..... gnasher16 30,591
I'm sure there was a rumour around arsenal signing Defoe at one point, he's a far better striker than that Cart horse........ Anyway top of the league and hopefully the hammers do a job on the noisy neighbours today..... Spoke to my Arsenal mate about that the other day his answer was " Arsene Wenger signing a proven English striker are you mad " As for the Hammers......a legitimate goal ruled out... we should of took all 3 points Edited November 3, 2012 by gnasher16

Still a good result for you and us, with Chelsea drawing too good day for Utd..... I bet your arsenal mate must get pissed off with their selling policy...... It's mad how arsenal in a couple of years have lost some of the best players in the prem.... You can't replace the likes of fabregas or van Persie..... Now maybe Walcott is on his way , but who would sign him I can't see a big club going for him................

I would say Suarez is a more than adequate replacement for Torres.... But would look more at the 35m they spent on Carroll as bad business.... Liverpool have held onto their prize asset ( gerrard) and they've been a decent enough side in all cup competitions over the last 7/8 years....... Arsenal have systematically dismantled what could have been 1 of the best sides in the country in 2 years.... Fabregas ( no one better IMO) van Persie ( same), clichy , Nasri and they haven't been replaced...... Plus if you look at Torres 50m looks great business but van Persie is flying it must grip Arsenal supports shit, I know it would mine...
Malt 379
I would say Suarez is a more than adequate replacement for Torres.... No chance! Suarez is never likely to get the amount of goals that an in form Torres, Van Persie, Agureo, type striker brings to the team. His chance conversion ratio is awful compared to the top strikers at the top teams.. He needs to be paired with another decent forward IMO..
j1985 1,984
Wenger needs to go its as simple as that!

The thing is Malt it's been a while since Torres has been in any sort of form.....did Liverpool see it coming? Have the niggly injuries caught up? Who knows but at this moment in time I don't think you'd swap Suarez for Torres, I agree though he needs another striker up with him but when gerrard and him are firing they are a hadful together.... I agree with you on Van Persie and Aguero but that is my point really players like that are irreplaceable, f*ck would you want to sale them to your biggest rival....... Not if you've got any ambition anyway....I think it's great though Rooney, Van Persie, wellbeck, chicarito, Valencia, even that little poof Nani that's how to put together a side to challenge for the league.......

I'm just hoping Anderson can stay injury free for a bit, he's starting to look promising again.. He could be a very good player Malt, could do with Scholesy educating him when and when not to play the killer ball..... If he shortened his game a bit and kept possession he would be quality.... It could be trying to impress in the short times he generally gets, hope he puts it all together though cause he's got it all no doubt...... I still think Fergie should be looking for another real quality Midfielder in January, think Carrick is doing a good solid job sat in, but not sure Cleverly or Anderson are consistent enough yet, and unfourtunately scholes won't go on forever.... Who would you like to see signed..... If anyone?

Most Arsenal fans hide behind the sofa when the topic of clubs living off former glories comes up .....and your having a pop at Liverpool !.....Arsenal are a massive club but they have no ambition.....for most big clubs 4th place is 3 behind first place.....for Arsenal its victory !! As regards selling their best players they were proved right in off loading Torres and Alonso went abroad............Arsenal sell their top players in the prime of their careers to their biggest rivals and replace them with players who are not of premier league quality.........You should get down there one day mate.....The " in Arsene we trust " mob is down to about 17 people now Edited November 4, 2012 by gnasher16
Hob&Jill 258
I'm an Arsenal fan and can't really disagree with anything you have said gnasher, sadly. We're more of a business than a football club these days really. Though with Wenger I'm undecided, I can't believe that anyone else could do much better with the resources. I'm not convinced it's him selling the top player, the troubles lie with the board I think. Saying that, maybe he is becoming a bit stale. I certainly would never want him sacked, he has done too much for the club and the English game in general. If we ever had the chance to get Guardiola I would hope we would.
