Better than picking tatties

With the school holidays on us, in what is known up here as tattie picking week, we had a short trip out with the dogs, a couple of mates and their kids, hoping to get a few rats and keep the kids occupied at the start of their hols. Both the young lads got stuck in, with smokers and sticks.

 

There aren't huge numbers of rats at this place any more, as it now has good pest control in place so the dogs had to work very hard for the rats that they got. A good morning was had by all, and although there were only a few rats to be had, they were quite a size. Best mark and catch of the morning was a rat hidden in the fork of a metal bucket, the dogs were determined there was something in there, so with a bit of extra manpower, aka Smudge and a piece of scaffolding we were able to lift the bucket up and find the rat in the tightest of spaces inside the actual fork - always trust your dogs mark folks...
